This cairn is close to the summit of St Sunday Crag in the English Lake District. The view shown is northwards to the curving shape of Ulswater, the far bank of which is the viewpoint of the previous shot in this collection.
In fact, the ridge of St Sunday Crag forms part of an alternative version of the "Fairfield Horseshoe", a famous fellwalking outing normally made from the south of that fell, from the vicinity of Rydal. This alternative horseshoe climbs from the east and as such experiences the far more craggy side of the Fairfield range, a dramatic aspect completely missed by the more usual route.
