The pull of Rackham Banks, on the South Downs above the small village of Rackham in West Sussex, is an insistent one for Chris. This collection's third panorama made at the location is, in fact, a retake as the first effort was, he thought, just too flat. (See the report on the August 2012 News page). More dramatic lighting was required.

So, this new re-take took advantage of a more raking angle of sunlight and a far more interesting combination of clouds and vapour trails above. The higher crop gives emphasis to this. Unusually though, Chris felt that the figures present in the first take were particularly well captured so, for once, he decided to retain them here.
