Historically the village pond - together with the village green that often houses it - has been the focal point of rural communities for centuries. Fitting then that Chris made this panorama at just such a pond - in this case that of the ancient Dorset village of Sutton Poyntz.
The precise choice of viewpoint was determined by the various features that are - typically enough - located there: The bench, the waste bin and the reeds and flagstones that demarcate the water's edge. Not simply for what they are but, rather, for the visual interest that they lend the image.
